Ritter Appointed to Co-Chair Ohio Commission on Infant Mortality
State Representative Kevin Ritter (R-Marietta) was recently appointed as co-chair of the Ohio Commission on Infant Mortality by Ohio House Speaker Matt Huffman (R-Lima). The members of this commission are government officials, directors, or designees from a number of executive agencies, and representatives from Ohio's hospital and community-based programs who are working together to provide recommendations on how to improve the rate of infant mortality.
“It is a privilege to serve as co-chair of the Commission on Infant Mortality and support the infants and families of our great state,” said Ritter. “I’m eager to begin this important work and make a difference for Ohio’s most vulnerable.”
The commission was originally created by the Ohio General Assembly in 2014 to study and improve Ohio’s infant mortality rates. Its members include two appointed co-chairs and various legislators, executive agency designees, and key infant-health stakeholders from the state.
