Rep. Ritter Showcases Tourism in Ohio
State Representative Kevin Ritter (R-Marietta) today announced that Ohio’s tourism industry welcomed over 240 million visitors in 2024, supporting thousands of local businesses and attractions across the state, generating over $57 billion in revenue, according to the Ohio Department of Development.
“Anyone wanting to understand the westward expansion of America, and the creation of the Northwest Territory, will love what they find in Southeast Ohio. As they say, ‘It all begins here,’” said Ritter.
From national parks and historical monuments to beloved local restaurants, wineries, museums, and more, Ohio offers an incredible variety of destinations for visitors from near and far.
Representative Ritter is proud to highlight a few notable tourism destinations and community favorites in their district:
- The historic town of Marietta, the first settlement in the Northwest Territory, and its local museums along the Ohio River
- Outdoor recreational parks, including Wayne National Forrest, Forked Run State Park, and Hawking Valley Scenic Railway
- Cultural treasures in Stuart’s Opera House and the People’s Bank Theater
- The Ohio Riverfront hosting sternwheeler regattas and festivals
