Rep. Ritter Highlights Ohio Statehouse Transportation Grant Program

COLUMBUS – State Representative Kevin Ritter (R-Marietta) today announced that the application for the Ohio Statehouse Transportation Grant will be open September 4 until September 13 at 11:59 p.m. 

“Visiting the Ohio Statehouse provides students with an immersive experience to learn about our state’s history and government,” said Ritter. “I hope this grant will open the opportunity to more classes, especially those who must travel many miles from their home communities.”

The Capitol Square Review and Advisory Board (CSRAB) will award 180 grants to schools across Ohio, helping cover the cost of school bus transportation to the Ohio Statehouse and its museum. Grants will be awarded evenly among three categories based on one-way travel from the applicant's school to the Ohio Statehouse:  

• 0 to 50 miles (60 grants)
• 51 to 100 miles (60 grants)
• 101+ miles (60 grants)
   

Only schools that receive state funding are eligible to apply.
