Rep. Brent to give sponsor testimony on bill to allow individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder to qualify for medical cannabis
COLUMBUS—Tomorrow at 11 a.m., State Rep. Juanita Brent (D-Cleveland) will give sponsor testimony on House Bill (HB) 60, which she introduced with Rep. Bill Seitz (R-Green Township) to allow individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder to qualify for medical cannabis in Ohio.
“I’m looking forward to providing sponsor testimony tomorrow on my bill to allow Ohioans with Autism Spectrum Disorder to qualify for medical cannabis,” said Rep. Brent. “We need to give Ohio parents and families a fighting chance to bring comfort to their child right here in Ohio. We don’t want to give families a reason to leave Ohio and go to one of the other seventeen states that has permitted Autism Spectrum Disorder as a qualifying condition for their medical cannabis program. I’m hopeful that we can add Ohio to the list. We may not be the first state to get this done, but I don’t want us to be the last.”
HB 60 has been assigned to the Ohio House Health Committee, which will meet tomorrow at 11 a.m. To watch Rep. Brent’s sponsor testimony, visit http://ohiochannel.org/collections/ohio-house-health-committee.
