Rep. Brent Statement on Bill That Goes Against Will of the People Regarding Adult Use Marijuana, Introduction of The Cannabis for the People Act
COLUMBUS – State Rep. Juanita O. Brent (D-Cleveland) today released the following statement condemning the amendment of House Bill (HB) 86, which would change adult cannabis use and cultivation laws approved by a majority of Ohioans on the November ballot:
“Ohio is not open for cannabis business expansion, but a dictatorship with the development of HB 86 (anti-cannabis expansion),” said Rep. Brent. “This anti-voter, anti-cannabis bill goes against the will of the 2,183,734 who voted for Issue 2. Because of this, I am introducing The Cannabis for the People Act to ensure that Ohio’s voters continue to have their votes determine the future of Ohio.”
The Cannabis for the People Act will address economic disparity, public smoking, public education, existing and new licenses, and more.
