COLUMBUS – State Representative Josh Williams (R-Sylvania Twp.) announced today that the OneOhio Recovery Foundation has launched a new statewide round of opioid settlement grant funding, making up to $45.7 million available to support prevention, treatment, and recovery efforts across Ohio.

Reps. Williams, Swearingen Introduce Legislation to Strengthen Child Safety and Prevent Fraud in State-Funded Childcare Centers

COLUMBUS, OH — State Representatives Josh Williams (R-Sylvania Twp.) and D.J. Swearingen (R-Huron) today introduced legislation that would require the installation of instant-access video cameras at childcare centers that receive public funds, a measure aimed at improving child safety, strengthening oversight, and preventing waste, fraud, and abuse of taxpayer dollars.

Representative Williams Urges Unannounced Inspections of Childcare Facilities in Columbus Area

COLUMBUS—State Representative Josh Williams (R-Sylvania Twp.) today sent a letter, co-signed by 41 Representatives, urging Kara Wente, Director of the Ohio Department of Children and Youth (DCY), to increase the frequency of unannounced inspections of childcare facilities, specifically in the Columbus, Ohio area, to ensure greater accountability.

Roemer, Williams Deliver Win for Public Safety as Governor DeWine Signs House Bill 23 Into Law

COLUMBUS – Governor DeWine signed the Escaped Convict Alert Program (ECAP) into law on Monday. Introduced by State Representatives Bill Roemer (R-Richfield) and Josh Williams (R-Sylvania Twp.), this legislation will strengthen public safety through a new alert system which will notify residents when a nearby convict escapes from custody.

Rep. Williams votes in Support of Legislation to Enhance Protection of Correctional Facility Employees, Reduce Drug Possession within Ohio Prisons

State Representative Josh Williams (R-Sylvania Twp.) today voted in support of House Bill 338 – also known as Andy’s Law – legislation that expands the offense of aggravated murder or assault of correctional facility employees and instills new measures to reduce inmate drug possession.
