COLUMBUS— State Reps. Joe Miller (D-Amherst) and Bill Roemer (R-Richfield) today announced the House passage of HB 44, legislation that will increase penalties for the assault of a sports official.

State Rep. Joe Miller (D-Amherst) today issued a statement on the expulsion from the Ohio House of former Republican Speaker Larry Householder (R-Glenford) for his alleged role in a $60 million public bribery and corruption scheme to pass and prevent a referendum on a billion-dollar corporate bailout in 2019.

COLUMBUS – State Reps. Joe Miller (D-Amherst) and Adam Bird (R-New Richmond) this week introduced House Bill (HB) 298, legislation which would change the way the Ohio State Board of Education is composed.

State Representative Joe Miller (D-Amherst) issued a statement today applauding the passage of House Bill (HB) 2, a long-held Democratic priority that would create the Ohio Residential Broadband Expansion Program, specifically designed to bring broadband access to unserved residential households in both rural and urban areas of the state. The bill funds $20 million in grants for this year.

HB 213 designates and displays the Honor and Remember Flag, and requires that it be flown at the Statehouse each Memorial Day under proper flag protocol. The bill also includes a permissive provision that allows other government buildings to fly the flag at their own discretion.

COLUMBUS – State Representatives Joe Miller (D-Amherst) and Allison Russo (D-Upper Arlington) today announced the introduction of House Bill (HB) 251 – legislation to establish an indoor mold education and awareness program through the Ohio Department of Health (ODH). 

State Rep. Joe Miller (D-Amherst) today called on Statehouse leaders to repeal Ohio’s new no duty to retreat law, which passed in December 2020. Democratic-sponsored legislation, House Bill (HB) 38, would repeal the new shoot first law that takes effect Tuesday.

This bill would bring the penalty for assaulting a referee on the job or in retaliation for a prior incident closer in line with current legislation protecting teachers, school administrators and bus drivers.
