Rep. Joe Miller Announces Local Site on the New Ohio Creativity Trail
COLUMBUS - State Rep. Joe Miller (D-Amherst) today celebrated the newest addition to the “Trails & Tales” program being produced by America 250-Ohio, the Ohio Creativity Trail. Lorain Public Library’s very own Toni Morrison Room is one such stop on the trail, offering a cozy reading room in the library that had nurtured the author’s love of literature. The America 250- Ohio Commission coordinated closely with each venue and their associated convention and visitors bureau on the trail to help them make the most of the opportunity to drive local visitation and support economic development.
“Participating in the America 250-Ohio Creativity Trail program is a great opportunity to celebrate Ohio’s rich artistic and literary heritage while also driving tourism and economic growth in our communities,” said Rep. Miller. “Lorain is proud to be home to the Toni Morrison Room, honoring one of our nation’s greatest literary voices and inspiring future generations of writers and readers.”
The Ohio Creativity Trail sites are grouped into six categories: On the Page, Music, Visual Arts, Glass & Pottery, Folk & Traditional Art, and Carousels. Participating sites range from large, world-renowned sites such as The Cleveland Museum of Art, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Wexner Center for the Arts, and National Underground Railroad Freedom Center alongside smaller artistic gems such as the Harriet Beecher Stowe House, Millersburg Glass Museum, Historic Zoar Village, and the Merry-Go-Round Museum. A full list of participants, interactive maps, and other materials can be found on the newly launched Creativity Trail website, america250-ohio.org/ohio-creativity-trail.
