Ohio House Passes Legislation Honoring Specialist Dennis Alan Combs

COLUMBUS –The Ohio House of Representatives today passed legislation to designate the “Specialist Dennis Alan Combs Memorial Highway,” announced bill sponsor State Rep. Jim Thomas (R- Jackson Township).

House Bill 202 will memorialize Combs by designating a portion of U.S. Route 62 between Harmont Avenue Northeast and Rebar Avenue Northeast as the “Specialist Dennis Alan Combs Memorial Highway.” The Canton native served as a medical specialist with the 44th Medical Brigade, 128th Medical Company. He was fatally wounded on June 16, 1967, while serving in Vietnam.

“While nothing will fill the void of his death, this dedication will forever memorialize Specialist Combs’ ultimate sacrifice to our nation,” said Thomas. 

The legislation now moves to the Ohio Senate for consideration.
