Schmidt Issues Statement on COVID-19 Budget Provisions

COLUMBUS – State Representative Jean Schmidt (R-Loveland) today issued the following statement on House Bill 110:

“I’m disappointed to see that Governor DeWine has decided to line-item veto a provision in the new state budget that would have vacated violations related to COVID-19 health orders.

“Ohio businesses have been hit hard over the last year and a half due to overreaching regulations. We spent months working on a well thought-out budget and had an opportunity to lift our businesses up, instead of weighing them down. 

“I look forward to working with my colleagues to find a way to override this veto.”
