Speaker Stephens Issues Statement on EPA Plan to Kill Coal

Ohio House Speaker Jason Stephens (R-Kitts Hill) issued the following statement on the Environmental Protection Agency's plan to eliminate coal as a viable energy source:

"Once again, the Biden Administration proves that they do not understand reality, or choose to ignore it in favor of their woke agenda. Ohio is facing an electric grid crisis. With businesses investing in our state and a growing energy demand, we are working to build and maintain an all-of-the-above energy strategy to meet that demand. Coal is — and must — be a part of a plan to power Ohio.

Coal is not just a commodity. It is a cornerstone of our economy, providing critical energy and thousands of jobs. Ohio will continue to recognize coal's crucial role in keeping our lights on and our communities powered. "
