State Rep. Gayle Manning (R-North Ridgeville)has co-sponsored two bills set to be introduced, one by State Reps. Mark Romanchuk (R-Ontario) and Laura Lanese (R-Grove City) and another sponsored by Michael Skindell (D-Lakewood) and Michael O’Brien (D-Warren). Both bills are intended to repeal House Bill 6. The bills surround the controversial nuclear bailout bill, House Bill 6, which has been recently and heavily referenced statewide due to a federal racketeering investigation.

State Rep. Gayle Manning (R-North Ridgeville) announces today the introduction of legislation with State Rep, Jessica Miranda (D-Forest Park) to update and reform Ohio’s campaign finance law. The bill’s language is substantively identical to Senate Bill 240 from the 128th General Assembly. That bill, sponsored by then-Senator Jon Husted, passed the Ohio Senate with bipartisan support, but did not make it to the floor of the Ohio House of Representatives. Manning’s bill will bring Ohio into compliance with the landmark 2010 Supreme Court case Citizens United vs. Federal Elections Commission, which cited the free speech clause of the First Amendment in clarifying the rights of corporations, labor unions, and other entities to contribute to political organizations.

Today, State Rep. Gayle Manning (R-North Ridgeville) announces that House Bill 239 passed within the Ohio House. The legislation eliminates the requirement of high school students needing to take the nationally standardized college admission assessment for graduation and reduces the overall number of end-of-course exams. Manning is a primary sponsor of the legislation.
