Manning Announces Controlling Board Approval for Local Project
State Rep. Gayle Manning (R-North Ridgeville) announces the state Controlling Board today approved funding for a project related to the upcoming business, Carvana, breaking-ground within Elyria.
The Controlling Board approved $290,000 to be used for public roadwork improvements in support of the Carvana project, which will create 232 new, full-time jobs and retain 168 jobs.
“I’m very pleased to see this initiative moving forward within our community,” said Manning. “Carvana is bringing more jobs and economic development to Elyria. I’m thankful to the Controlling Board for approval of this project.”
Last month, Manning announced the initiative of Carvana, an online car retailer, intending to build a facility in Lorain County. Carvana will bring around 400 jobs to the area and an overall investment of $23 million and an estimated payroll of $13.2 million.
The next state Controlling Board meeting is set for Sept. 28.
