Representative Gayle Manning Announces Funds for Recovery Housing in North Ridgeville
COLUMBUS— State Representative Gayle Manning (R-North Ridgeville) announced today that the Ohio Controlling Board has approved funds to Primary Purpose, Inc. for recovery housing in North Ridgeville. This money will go toward the purchase of a home to house women in recovery
“With the opioid epidemic, facilities in our community, like Primary Purpose, have been a cornerstone in treating and assisting people with recovery,” Manning said. "I am pleased to see this investment that will help Primary Purpose further its mission and serve our community.”
The controlling board released $121,491 to complete the purchase of a 2,706 sq. ft. house that is situated on a 0.92-acre lot. The house has five bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms and will support 11 adult women in recovery. Many renovations have been done to the property including the installation of central air conditioning, replacement of the front porch roof and ceiling, exterior painting, replacement of worn carpeting with more durable flooring, improved finishes in the basement and minor electrical work.
A peer House Mother will be on site and a House Manager will be at the house 3 to 4 times a week and on-call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The women living in this recovery home are still encouraged to continue with local agencies such as Intensive Outpatient Services, Mental Health and Addiction Counseling and Case Management, and Recovery Coaches.
Primary Purpose, Inc. has committed to providing recovery housing at this location for 30 years.
