Lorain County Health, Dentistry Receives State Funding
COLUMBUS – State Representative Gayle Manning (R-North Ridgeville) announces the Ohio Controlling Board has released $500,000 to the Department of Mental Health for the construction of a new community health center for the Lorain County Health and Dentistry.
The state funds were used to help build the new community health center in North Ridgeville. The new center is located on Center Ridge Road and has seven new medical exam rooms, six dental operatories, two behavioral health offices and additional clinical and administration space. The health center will provide primary and preventative medical care, behavioral and substance addiction services and dentistry treatments.
“Community health centers are a critical care facility that help with the routine health needs of Ohioans,” said Manning. “They are providing the necessary care in areas where Ohioans lack access to health care.”
Manning attended the ribbon cutting of the recently opened facility. The health center is now receiving patients.
The Ohio Controlling Board is the financial legislative oversight for capital and operating expenditures by state agencies. The next controlling board meeting is scheduled for Oct. 21.
