COLUMBUS – State Representative Gary Click (R-Vickery) submitted a letter on Friday, July 15th to the Ohio EPA opposing the expansion of the Sunny Farms Landfill in Fostoria, OH.

Representative Click joins the Seneca County Commissioners, the City Council of Fostoria, Big Spring Township, and Jackson Township in addition to Loudon Township, where Sunny Farms is located, in advocating against expansion.

The Fostoria landfill has been unable to meet and maintain recognized quality air standards without the exceptions granted under the consent order. “Despite the best efforts of current management, constant changes in ownership have not allowed Sunny Farms to foster an ongoing track record that has earned the trust and confidence of the community,” said Click.

“Local citizens and government officials have expressed their opposition to this expansion with tenacity and vigor, whether it be through overwhelming attendance at public hearings or by submitting detailed letters discouraging the further development of the site,” added Click.

“My role is to represent the community in which I serve,” Click stated. “Until Sunny Farms can resolve these issues, I will advocate against further expansion.”
