Click, Ohio House Approve Constitutional Protection Amendment

State Representative Gary Click (R-Vickery) and the Ohio House voted favorably Wednesday to approve the Constitutional Protection Amendment, Senate Joint Resolution 2. The resolution raises the required threshold of votes for an amendment to the state constitution from a simple majority to 60% of state voters. The resolution additionally provides the opportunity for Ohioans to approve the amendment on August 8th, 2023.

“My colleagues across the aisle have argued against protecting the constitution and have demonstrated reluctance towards an August election,” said Click. “They may not trust the people of Ohio, but I do.”
