Click Brings Attention to Local School District Workforce Issues
COLUMBUS – State Representative Gary Click (R-Vickery) spent last Friday touring the Fremont City Schools with Superintendent Jon Detwiler. Over the course of the day, Representative Click was able to speak to many of the school's employees and students including the cafeteria staff, janitors, teachers, principals, coaches and bus drivers.
Throughout the day, conversations with staff of the school district highlighted the difficulty they are having with retaining and hiring new employees across all positions. School staff remained in high spirits but expressed their need for help across the board.
“I had a marvelous time touring the different buildings around the school district and I am very impressed with the dedication and commitments that all of the staff has to these children,” said Click. “We must continue to invest in our children and I encourage members of our community to apply for jobs to help our future generation.”
Touring the elementary, middle school and high school buildings and seeing the high spirits of the children was inspiring and shows the strong desire that our younger generation has to learn, added Click.
Fremont Superintendent Jon Detwiler echoed the need for more people in the workforce and provided the below link for more information on the district and potential workforce opportunities:
