Board Approves Funds to Fremont Ohio

COLUMBUS - The State Controlling Board has approved the release of $60,416 to Rodger Young Park located in Fremont Ohio State Representative Gary Click announced today. 

This funding was allocated as a part of the NatureWorks Project which was established in 1993. Since the inception of the program over 2300 projects have been completed throughout all of Ohio’s counties. 

This $60,416 allocated to Rodger Young Park will be used to relocate youth soccer fields while also constructing two new baseball diamonds. 

These projects were among 115 others that were awarded by the State Controlling Board on Monday and they amounted to $5.2 million in funding. The NatureWorks grant program provides up to 75 percent reimbursement assistance for local government subdivisions (townships, villages, cities, counties, park districts, joint recreation districts, and conservancy districts) to for the acquisition, development, and rehabilitation of recreational areas.

“I am pleased to see NatureWorks funding coming to Fremont Ohio to help improve the parks in our community while also encouraging members of our community to get out and enjoy our parks and recreation areas,” said Click.
