Pavliga Supports Curfew Extension for Portage County Businesses

State Rep. Gail Pavliga (R-Portage County) announces her support on the extension of the statewide curfew hours for bars and restaurants from 10 to 11 p.m. – the new curfew guidelines begin today. 

“Businesses have been so negatively impacted by the mandates,” said Pavliga. “As a small business owner, I feel their pain and I am extremely pleased to see a step in the right direction to help them and their workers get back on their feet as they safely reopen with more operational hours.”

Pavliga has previously and publically supported businesses amid the pandemic. Specifically, Pavliga recently encouraged businesses to apply for the Bar and Restaurant Assistance Fund. This initiative gives bars, restaurants, and other liquor permit holders the opportunity to apply for funding due to the pandemic.

Earlier this month, Portage County had over 40 businesses that had not yet applied for the fund.

Pavliga anticipates further curfew extensions in the coming weeks.
