Millions of dollars in state funding are headed to Portage County, with some allocations larger than originally thought.

Gail Pavliga (R-Portage County) announced Thursday that more than $3.88 million has been awarded to projects in Portage County, including the construction of a new barrack at Camp James A. Garfield, renovations at the Kent State University Kent campus, and new multi-use trails. The State Controlling Board approved the measures at a meeting earlier this week.
“These funds will not only build new housing for our servicemen and women, enhance security, and improve the learning environment for students at Kent State, but also help facilitate economic growth and invest in our parks here in Portage County,” said Pavliga.
