Pavliga Receives the Public Children's Services Association of Ohio Legislator of the Year Award
State Rep. Gail Pavliga (R-Portage County) on Tuesday was recognized by the Public Children's Services Association of Ohio with the Legislator of the Year Award. This award recognizes outstanding leadership and action by legislators on issues impacting children and families served by the children services system.
“It is a true honor to receive this award,” said Pavliga. “I look forward to continuing to be your advocate. It is an honor to serve my community, our great state, and all of you who do this wonderful work on behalf of our children.”
Pavliga received the award for her work in the legislature advocating for children, most notably on House Bill 512, which is aimed at tackling Ohio’s child placement crisis. HB 512 has been voted out of the House Families and Aging Committee and awaits a vote on the House floor.
The Public Children’s Services Association of Ohio (PCSACO) presented the Legislator of the Year Award at their Annual Conference in Columbus. The PCSACO is a statewide membership-driven association of Ohio’s county Public Children Services Agencies that advocates for sound public policy, promotes program excellence, and builds public value for safe children, stable families, and supportive communities.
