Pavliga Highlights TechCred Applications for Businesses, Workforce on 'National Technology Day'
For National Technology Day on Jan. 6, State Rep. Gail Pavliga (R-Portage County) announces the TechCred application process is now open for businesses.
TechCred allows businesses to upskill their workforce while allowing Ohioans to learn new skills within the technology-focused sector. The program allows employers to apply for grants that allow employees to earn training credentials in areas such as robotics/automation, military and smart transportation, manufacturing technology, IoT and cybersecurity, information technology, healthcare technology, construction technology and business technology.
“It’s very apparent within the state and nationwide, businesses are looking for workers,” said Pavliga. “The TechCred program allows businesses to enhance the skills of their employees that will ultimately help strengthen our workforce and economy throughout Ohio. I encourage Portage County businesses to apply for this successful grant program.”
In total, TechCred has approved 1,615 businesses statewide for funding that has supported 32,000 tech credentials for their employees.
The current application period for the TechCred program runs from Jan. 3-31. For businesses to apply and for more information, visit TechCred.Ohio.gov.
