State Rep. Gail Pavliga (R-Portage County) announces that businesses across Portage County can apply for the Bar and Restaurant Assistance Fund. The deadline for applications is set for Jan. 31, 2021.

“As a small business owner myself, I know the ultimate goal is to get businesses safely back up and running to full capacity,” said Pavliga. “While I understand that this grant will not make up for all the devastating losses businesses have faced this past year, I encourage our bar and restaurant owners throughout Portage County to take this opportunity in applying for this grant. It’s my hope this initiative can provide at least some relief, simultaneously, I will continue to push for responsibly reopening our economy across the state.”

Pavliga notes that Portage County has over 40 businesses that have not yet applied for the grant program.

The $38.7 million within the Bar and Restaurant Assistance Fund will be used to help liquor permit holders that have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The types of permit holders the fund applies to include bars, restaurants, breweries, distilleries, wineries, casinos, private clubs and several others.

Eligible permit holders must have an active on premise permit. Licensees must present their FEIN or SSN, liquor permit number, and address for each location at time of application. Licensees could receive $2,500 per business location.
