Ohio House Speaker Bob Cupp (R-Lima) today appointed State Rep. Gail Pavliga (R-Portage County) as Vice-Chair of the Behavioral Health and Recovery Supports Committee during the 134th General Assembly.

“One of my top priorities going into the Ohio House was to focus on mental health and addiction across our county and state,” said Pavliga. “I’m very grateful to Speaker Cupp for recognizing my credentials and expertise within this field to appoint me as Vice-Chair of this essential committee. I’m ready to begin working on real solutions on these rising concerns caused by this deadly pandemic.”

She also received a Master’s Degree in Individual/Family Studies/Counseling and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology/Science both from Kent State University. Additionally, Pavliga has previously acknowledged wanting to address issues such as mental health and opioid addiction.

Pavliga will also serve on the House Higher Education and Career Readiness and Primary and Secondary Education Committees.
