Ohio House Passes Bill to Designate the 'Patrolman William J. Keller Memorial Highway.'
COLUMBUS—The Ohio House of Representatives today passed House Bill 380, legislation to designate the “Patrolman William J. Keller Memorial Highway,” announced by Representative Gail Pavliga (R-Portage County)
House Bill 380 will make the portion of I-76, between Lakewood Road and Industry Road, in Portage County “Patrolman William J. Keller Memorial Highway.”
“I was surprised to learn this has yet to be done to honor Patrolman Keller as this is a small token of appreciation to recognize an officer who made the ultimate sacrifice,” said Pavliga. “It is with the Keller family and local Portage Country Highway patrol in mind that we created a bill to rightfully honor Patrolman Keller.”
The portion of I-76, between Lakewood Road and Industry Road, in Portage County. Patrolman Keller served with the Ohio State Highway Patrol for 10 months before his fatality.
The legislation now heads to the Ohio Senate for consideration.
