Rep. Tims Celebrates Breaking The House Supermajority: "The Fight Is Not Over. It's Time To Work."

COLUMBUS — State Rep. Desiree Tims (D-Dayton) congratulated Democrats across Ohio and across the nation on a historic Election Day, as voters turned out in force and delivered wins from the ballot’s top to its bottom.

“Ohio is tired. America is tired. Families are tired of choosing between gas and groceries, and last night the message was clear: we are ready for change. To everyone who voted and participated in the democratic process, thank you!

This didn’t happen by accident. It happened because people all across Ohio in between refused to sit on the sidelines. Ohioans are looking for leaders who will lower costs, protect their healthcare, fund their schools and put working families first. Last night, they chose progress.

Last night was not the finish line, but the starting line. The people who sent us into the arena expect us to deliver, and I intend to work for every one of them. Now we get to work on the high cost of living, on Medicaid, on public schools, economic development, and making sure no Ohioan gets left behind.

To the ones who stood in the arena, who got knocked down and stood back up: keep going. It’s time to demonstrate our vision of working together for the benefit of everyone. Ohio is ready.”
