Rep. Tims Applauds $8M Investment in Workforce Training, Highlights Sinclair Community College's Share
COLUMBUS – State Rep. Desiree Tims (D-Dayton) today announced that the Ohio Department of Higher Education has approved an $8M investment in workforce training and equipment upgrades for higher education institutions across the state. As part of this funding, Sinclair Community College will receive $179,451.99 to enhance its workforce-based training and equipment, strengthening its role in preparing students for high-demand industries.
“This investment is a win for Ohio’s workforce and for our students who deserve access to high-quality training programs,” said Rep. Tims. “Sinclair Community College continues to lead the way in providing cutting-edge workforce education, and this funding ensures that students in our region have the tools they need to succeed in today’s job market.”
The funding, allocated through the Ohio Department of Higher Education’s Regionally Aligned Priorities in Delivering Skills (RAPIDS) program, aims to support partnerships between businesses and higher education institutions. The initiative focuses on meeting the workforce needs of growing industries while ensuring Ohio students are equipped with the necessary skills to thrive in competitive job markets.
Sinclair Community College’s share of the funding will be used to upgrade equipment and expand training opportunities in key sectors, supporting students and regional businesses in developing a skilled workforce.
