COLUMBUS – State Rep. Desiree Tims (D-Dayton) today is proud to announce that Sinclair Community College will receive $1,563,425.00 in state capital funding for two major projects aimed at improving campus infrastructure and advancing electric aviation training in Dayton.

“These projects reflect Dayton’s commitment to innovation, education, and workforce development,” said Rep. Tims. “I’m proud to support Sinclair’s continued leadership in aviation technology and to advocate for smart investments that directly benefit our students and community.”

The funding includes $1,063,425.00 from the Higher Education Improvement Fund for the replacement of aging chiller systems in Buildings 12 and 20 on Sinclair’s downtown campus. The upgrades will improve energy efficiency and modernize essential facilities that serve students, faculty, and staff.

Additionally, $500K from the Higher Education Improvement Taxable Fund will support Sinclair’s Advanced Air Mobility and Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) program. These funds will be used to purchase a new electric flight simulator from Beta Technologies. Sinclair will also contribute $45K in local funding toward the total $545K project.

Rep. Tims remains committed to delivering state resources that strengthen educational opportunities, advance green technology, and grow the local economy in Montgomery County.
