Swearingen Announces House Override of Governor DeWine's SAFE Act, Save Women's Sports Act Veto
COLUMBUS— The Ohio House of Representatives today voted to override Governor DeWine’s recent veto of House Bill 68, announced State Rep. D.J. Swearingen (R-Huron).
Swearingen issued the following statement regarding the vote:
“Today, I voted to override the Governor’s veto of House Bill 68, the Save Adolescents from Experimentation Act (SAFE) and the Save Women’s Sports Act. I am proud to stand up for Ohio parents and children whether the threat is economic constraints, government overreach, or woke ideology. While Rep. Carruthers and I’s pro-family legislation ‘The Parents Bill of Rights’ (HB 8) awaits action in the Senate, I look forward to HB 68 becoming law in our state. It is a right step forward.”
House Bill 68’s override now heads to the Ohio Senate for consideration.
