COLUMBUS —The Ohio Jewish Caucus today released the following statement condemning the recent antisemitic hate speech being spewed by Nazi demonstrators in Hudson, Ohio, the hometown of the Jewish Caucus’ Senator Casey Weinstein (D-Hudson):

BOSTON - State Rep. Christine Cockley (D-Columbus) today stood in solidarity with Democratic members of the Texas State Senate and dozens of lawmakers from other states in Boston, MA denouncing the undemocratic attempt by Texas Republicans to unfairly redraw the state's congressional maps to favor Republicans candidates ahead of the 2026 midterm elections. Rep. Cockley is in Boston attending the annual National Conference of State Legislatures. 

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Christine Cockley (D-Columbus) today voted “NO” on the vote to override a school district property tax levy restriction provision vetoed in House Bill 96 (the state operating budget). Line-item 66 would eliminate several types of levies, limiting the choices voters have in how to support their schools and local governments, and would not provide real property tax relief to Ohioans. Real property tax relief is one of the most pressing needs for everyday Ohioans. House Democrats are ready and willing to work together to get that done.

COLUMBUS — State Rep. Christine Cockley (D-Columbus) today announced that she was pleased to see the U.S. Senate Monday night voted nearly unanimously to remove a ban from the H.R. 1, also known as the Big Beautiful Bill, that would have blocked states from enacting their own safety regulations around artificial intelligence (AI). Rep. Cockley, along with Democratic and Republican colleagues on the committee, sent a joint letter last month to U.S. Senators Bernie Moreno (R-Ohio) and Jon Husted (R-Ohio), urging them to reject the preemption language and defend Ohio’s authority to craft AI policy tailored to its people and communities.

Christine Cockley (D-Columbus) today voted “NO” on House Bill (HB) 96, the Republican-crafted state operating budget, citing cruel and chaotic cuts and its abject failure to invest in children, public education, healthcare, and basic services – all while shoveling billions to the wealthy and well-connected.

Christine Cockley (D-Columbus) this month, with fellow members of the Ohio House Technology and Innovation Committee, sent a letter to U.S. Senators Bernie Moreno and Jon Husted, urging them to oppose language in H.R. 1, also known as the Big Beautiful Bill, that would ban states from regulating artificial intelligence (AI).

COLUMBUS - The Ohio Jewish Caucus today released the following statement concerning the criminal charges filed Friday against a man who allegedly threatened Congressman Max Miller and his family early Thursday morning in Rocky River, OH.

COLUMBUS — Today, in an effort organized by the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME), State Rep. Christine Cockley (D-Columbus) and more than 800 state and local elected officials signed onto a bipartisan letter to oppose the budget bill, which would severely hurt Ohio and communities nationwide. The letter warns that significant cuts at the federal level and added administrative costs will cause massive budget shortfalls and put an impossible burden on states to meet. As a result, deeper cuts would have to be made at the state and local levels, hurting local economies and impacting every sector from health care to public safety.
