Reps. Thomas, Gross Deliver Sponsor Testimony for the Joshua Alert in Senate

COLUMBUS — State Reps. Cecil Thomas (D-Cincinnati) and Jennifer Gross (R-West Chester) Wednesday provided sponsor testimony on House Bill (HB) 359, The Joshua Alert, which passed unanimously out of the Ohio House. The two were joined by Joshua’s mother, Jonisa Cook.

“The Joshua Alert is about honoring Joshua’s life and making sure his name stands for action, urgency, and hope,” said Rep. Thomas. “No mother should have to endure the fear and heartbreak of not knowing where her child is. By strengthening our emergency response system, we are working to ensure that when a child goes missing, help is immediate and coordinated. I am proud to stand with Rep. Gross and Joshua’s mother, Jonisa Cook, to move this critical legislation forward.” 

HB 359 now awaits another hearing in the Senate Armed Services, Veterans Affairs & Public Safety Committee.
