Rep. Thomas Announces Unanimous House Passage of Legislation Enacting the School Bus Safety Act

COLUMBUS - State Rep. Cecil Thomas (D- Cincinnati) Wednesday announced that House Bill (HB) 3—which enacts the “School Bus Safety Act”— unanimously passed the House floor.  

“HB 3 is not just another piece of legislation—it is a critical shift in how we prioritize the safety of our children. It holds drivers accountable, invests in safety measures, and empowers school districts to implement the most effective solutions for their communities,” said Rep. Thomas. “Let’s take this opportunity to make Ohio’s roads safer for every student who boards a school bus. Together, we can prevent future tragedies and give families the peace of mind they deserve.”

HB 3 now heads to the Senate for committee assignment.
