Rep. Cecil Thomas Announces $277K Approved for Vontz Center Improvements

COLUMBUS — State Rep. Cecil Thomas (D-Cincinnati) today celebrated the Ohio Controlling Board’s approval of $277K for improvements to the Vontz Center for Molecular Studies at the University of Cincinnati.
“The Vontz Center is not only an architectural landmark in Cincinnati, but also a place where critical medical research happens every day,” said Rep. Thomas. “This investment protects that work, preserves a building our community is proud of, and ensures researchers have the safe, modern facilities they need to continue making breakthroughs.”
The funding will support additional roof work as part of the final phase of exterior envelope improvements to address ongoing water infiltration and aging infrastructure at the medical research facility designed by architect Frank Gehry.
