State Rep. Casey Weinstein (D-Hudson) today announced his nomination to the Ohio Holocaust and Genocide Memorial Education Commission. The Commission, which was created at the end of the 133rd General Assembly, is tasked with gathering and disseminating information on the Holocaust and genocide and propose new initiatives to fill the gap in current education programs.

Rep. COLUMBUS- State Reps. Allison Russo (D-Upper Arlington), Susan Manchester (R-Waynesfield) and Casey Weinstein (D-Hudson) today announced the introduction of House Bill (HB) 198, or “Madeline’s Law” during a virtual press conference.  Introduced as House Bill 243 in the 133rd General Assembly, “Madeline’s Law” is a bipartisan bill that would expand health insurance coverage to include hearing aids for children up to the age of 21.

State Rep. Casey Weinstein (D-Hudson) penned an OpEd in the Akron Beacon Journal this week in which he called for the repeal of Ohio’s new no duty to retreat law, which passed in December 2020 and is set to take effect Tuesday, April 6. Rep. Weinstein is a co-sponsor of legislation, House Bill (HB) 38, which would repeal the controversial law.

April has been previously recognized as National Autism Awareness month, with April 2 being recognized as World Autism Awareness Day since 2008.

COLUMBUS –Rep. Casey Weinstein (D-Hudson) issued a statement following the final passage of House Bill (HB) 74, the state’s two-year transportation budget. Democrats fought against the governor’s proposed cuts to public transit funding in the bill, securing more than $221 million over the next two years, more than doubling the governor’s proposed investment.

Casey Weinstein (D-Hudson) joined House Democrats today to vote opposition to a motion to override the governor’s veto of Senate Bill (SB) 22, controversial Republican legislation that would threaten the health and safety of Ohioans by curbing authority from the governor and health director during public health crises.

Today, Rep. Casey Weinstein (D-Hudson) signed on as a co-sponsor to the Ohio Fairness Act, bipartisan legislation that would protect LGBTQ+ Ohioans from discrimination in employment, housing and accommodations. A previous version of the Ohio Fairness Act (The Equal Housing and Employment Act) passed the Ohio House of Representatives on Sept. 15, 2009, with bipartisan support. Last General Assembly, the Ohio Fairness Act had 3 hearings but did not receive a committee vote.

State Rep. Casey Weinstein (D-Hudson) issued a statement today as state officials announced a number of regional mass vaccination sites across Ohio, which will be able to administer up to 1,000 vaccines a day beginning later this month. Sites include Akron, Chillicothe, Cincinnati, Columbus, Dayton, Lima, Marietta, Maumee, Wilmington, Youngstown and Zanesville. Another four mobile sites will open in Ada, Athens, Mansfield and Steubenville.
