Rep. Weinstein says budget a step in the right direction
Rep. Casey Weinstein (D-Hudson) issued the following statement on the House passage of House Bill 110, the state’s two-year budget, saying that despite falling short of the bold opportunity for Ohio’s future Democrats wanted to see, the bill moves Ohio a step in the right direction to address the needs of working people and families.
“This is not a perfect bill, but it makes a significant investment in our district’s public schools and ends 24-years of unconstitutional school funding in the state of Ohio,” said Rep. Weinstein. “It further provides $170 million to clean up Lake Erie through H2Ohio and provides a 2% personal income tax cut for Ohioans who are still hurting financially as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.”
After passing the House, the bill moves to the Senate for consideration.
