State Rep. Bride Rose Sweeney (D-Cleveland) today announced the passage of House Bill (HB) 163, her bipartisan legislation with Rep. Al Cutrona (R-Canfield) that prohibits mandatory overtime work for nurses as a condition of continued employment. The bill passed by a strong vote of 82-12. 

Democratic lawmakers walked out of the House Government Oversight Committee Thursday after the Republican chairman threatened to cut off testimony on House Bill 294, anti-voter legislation that would roll back ballot access and intentionally make the process more confusing for voters.

The bill was originally brought forward by Rep. Randi Clites in the 133rd General Assembly and passed the House unanimously 95-0 as an amendment to HB 358.
