Rep. Lorenz Highlights Ohio Statehouse Transportation Grant Program

COLUMBUS – State Representative Brian Lorenz (R-Powell) today announced that the application for the Ohio Statehouse Transportation Grant will be open September 4 until September 13 at 11:59 p.m.
“Delaware County is home to some of the best schools and brightest students in Ohio, and I encourage our local educators to take advantage of this opportunity,” said Rep. Lorenz. “A visit to the Ohio Statehouse gives students a firsthand look at their state government, helps bring history and civics to life, and allows them to see where important decisions affecting their communities are made. I hope schools throughout Delaware County will apply and give more students the opportunity to experience our Statehouse.”
The Capitol Square Review and Advisory Board (CSRAB) will award 180 grants to schools across Ohio, helping cover the cost of school bus transportation to the Ohio Statehouse and its museum. Grants will be awarded evenly among three categories based on one-way travel from the applicant's school to the Ohio Statehouse:
- 0 to 50 miles (60 grants)
- 51 to 100 miles (60 grants)
- 101+ miles (60 grants)
Only schools that receive state funding are eligible to apply.
Applications must be submitted online and by an authorized teacher or school administrator. To learn more information, click here.
