Ohio House Passes Resolution to Establish Nurses Week in Ohio
COLUMBUS—State Representative Brian Lorenz (R-Powell) is pleased to announce the Ohio House of Representatives passed House Resolution 87, legislation to establish Nurses Week in the State of Ohio, with unanimous support.
This legislation will specifically recognize the week of May 6-12, 2025 as Nurses and Health Professionals Week in the State of Ohio in honor of their invaluable contributions to the health and well-being of Ohioans, providing compassionate, high-quality care.
“Nurses are truly the unsung heroes of our healthcare system,” said Lorenz. “They are often the first to arrive in a crisis and the last to leave when the work is done. Establishing a formal Nurses Week in Ohio is one way we can honor this legacy and recognize the continuing contributions of today’s nurses.”
According to the Ohio Board of Nursing, there are more than 300,000 licensed nurses and related health professionals in Ohio.
