COLUMBUS— State Representative Brian Lorenz (R-Powell) announces the recent funding of $400,000 to the Delaware County Land Reutilization Corporation for redevelopment.

The $400,000 will be used to remediate a former convenience store on Dublin Road. The former business was once used as a gas station requiring cleanup of all underground storage tanks and environmental risks. The site will be developed into a coffee shop and charcuterie board prep kitchen, creating six new jobs and retaining eight positions.

“Small businesses are the backbone of local economy,” Lorenz said. “When the state can fund the opportunity for a small business to thrive, that is a win.”

Funding for the redevelopment and preservation comes from the state’s Brownfield Remediation Program, which has awarded more than $107 million across the state to create economic growth and opportunity through the redevelopment of abandoned and dilapidated properties.
