Pike County Receives Funding in Capital Budget
COLUMBUS—The Ohio House of Representatives today passed Substitute House Bill 2, the state’s two-year construction budget for capital projects throughout the state. The Capital Budget will make historic investments in local community projects, announced State Rep. Bob Peterson (R-Sabina).
Peterson secured the following capital investment that will positively impact Pike County:
$750,000 to support the Pike Emergency Operations Backup Power Project; and
$75,000 to renovate the exterior façade of the Pike Heritage Museum and upgrade the electrical system.
“Energy reliability is important for the safety of families and businesses. I am proud to support long-term solutions to power services,” said Peterson. “Additionally, the Pike Heritage Museum has been a cornerstone of the Waverly community since the mid-1800s. Restoring this space will allow more residents to enjoy the historic space for generations to come.”
In addition to these local investments, this legislation also includes statewide capital investments of:
$600 million for the School Building Program Assistance Fund;
$400 million for the Public Works Commission Local Public Infrastructure and State Capital Improvement Program; and
$397.6 million for higher education projects around the state.
Substitute House Bill 2 awaits a signature from the Governor.
