Roemer Announces E-Check Elimination Resolution Passage
State Representative Bill Roemer (R-Richfield) announced Thursday the passage of House Resolution 247 through the Ohio House of Representatives. As favorably reported by the Ohio House Energy and Natural Resources Committee, HR 247 respectfully urges Congress and President Donald J. Trump to amend the Federal Clean Air Act to eliminate the requirement to implement the E-Check Program. The resolution would provide relief to seven Northeast Ohio counties currently subjected to the arduous regulations stipulated through E-Check.
“As a lifelong Northeast Ohio resident, I have known firsthand the struggles presented by the unnecessary E-Check program. While air quality in our region and state has consistently improved, this arbitrary program has continued to adversely impact our citizens, particularly, those with lower incomes.” Roemer stated. “This resolution, which will serve as an impetus to mending this serious problem, serves as my first piece of passed legislation and is an incredible, humbling honor.”
