Bird Celebrates Funding for Recovery Housing in Clermont County

COLUMBUS – State Representative Adam Bird (R-New Richmond) today announced that significant funding for recovery housing for On Our Way Home, Inc. was approved by the Ohio State Controlling Board.

“Recovery housing provides exceptional support for those working to improve their lives,” Bird said. “This funding will make it easier for these individuals to receive the assistance they need and the opportunities they seek.”

In the 134th General Assembly, Bird supported House Bill 687, the state capital budget, which is funding the construction of these buildings. On Our Way Home, Inc. will use these homes to provide recovery housing in Clermont County for men and women where their recovery can be supported through structured living, socialization, peer accountability, and supportive services such as job retention skills and employment readiness.

On Our Way, Inc. is set to receive $463,237 for the construction of these facilities.

The Ohio State Controlling Board is the financial legislative oversight for capital and operating expenditures by state agencies. The next Controlling Board meeting is scheduled for Feb. 6.
