Speaker Bob Cupp (R-Lima) announces that nearly $100,000 has been approved by the Ohio State Controlling Board during their meeting today. The funding will be focused on enhancing campus safety.

“These appropriations will be useful to improve the overall campus safety at James Rhodes State College here in Lima for both students and faculty alike,” Cupp said. “I applaud the efforts of the Controlling Board today by approving this measure.”

The initiative stems from Senate Bill 310, which is the capital budget bill that Cupp supported in 2020.

The funding will be used through the Campus Safety Grant for security improvements to the Borra Center and main campus. The amount of capital funds approved for this specific project totaled $99,495.

The next Controlling Board meeting is scheduled for April 4.
