Reps. Rezabek to Host Event Promoting Healthy Food for Ohio Program
State Representatives Jeff Rezabek (R-Clayton) and Ryan Smith (R-Bidwell), along with members of the Finance Fund, will be holding a press conference to promote the Healthy Food for Ohio (HFFO) program.
The press conference will be held March 29th from 3-5 p.m. at Friendship Village (5790 Denlinger Road, Trotwood, OH 45426).
“I am excited about the Healthy Food for Ohio program and its potential to help our communities that are lacking access to healthy foods,” Rep. Rezabek said. “We have the opportunity to help and that is what I try to do every day representing our district. It is time that we help out our most vulnerable areas in the state and this program has the potential to do so.”
The Healthy Food for Ohio program is a public-private partnership that provides loans and grants to food retailers that are developing or renovating fresh food retail in underserved areas in Ohio. Rep. Rezabek worked with Rep. Smith, who chairs the House Finance Committee, and Rep. Mark Romanchuk to secure $1 million per year for the program in last year’s state operating budget.
