Speaker of the Ohio House Clifford A. Rosenberger (R-Clarksville) has appointed State Representative Jonathan Dever (R-Madeira) to co-chair the Ohio Constitutional Modernization Commission. Today, Rep. Dever was elected by his peers on the commission to serve as co-chair.

Established in 2011, the Ohio Constitutional Modernization Commission is charged with studying Ohio’s Constitution and making recommendations to the General Assembly for the amendment of the Constitution.

“During his time in the Ohio House, Representative Dever has demonstrated a keen understanding of Ohio’s laws and a willingness to approach complex issues,” Rosenberger said. “I know that he will exude these qualities as a member and co-chair of the Constitutional Modernization Commission and add an important, knowledgeable voice to this very important conversation about Ohio’s guiding document.”

"It is an honor to be appointed to the Constitutional Modernization Commission and to be elected by my peers as co-chair,” Dever said. “The Ohio Constitution is the bedrock of our rights and liberties as citizens of the state of Ohio. I am looking forward to being active in discussions around how to improve this document to benefit all Ohioans."

Dever is currently serving his second term as state representative. He represents the 28th House District, which includes the northern suburbs of Hamilton County.
