Rep. Brown Elected Chair of Committee Reviewing State Agencies
COLUMBUS—State Representative Tim Brown (R-Bowling Green) was elected chairman of the Sunset Review Committee, a panel tasked with determining the future of several state agencies in order to make state government run efficiently and responsibly.
The first hearing was held last week, during which Brown was elected chairman by his committee peers. In the Ohio House, Brown chairs the House Government Accountability and Oversight Committee.
“I am honored by the confidence of my colleagues to lead our effort to review and properly ensure that our agencies, boards, and commissions are providing cost-effective and valuable service to the citizens of Ohio,” Brown said.
Following Brown’s election as chair, representatives from 20 state agencies, boards and commissions testified before the members on behalf of their various entities. The committee will continue to meet regularly over the coming months.
