Klopfenstein, King Condemn China's Attack on Ohioans in New Resolution
COLUMBUS—State Reps. Roy Klopfenstein (R-Haviland) and Angie King (R-Celina) today introduced a resolution that condemns the People’s Republic of China for its role in the global drug trade.
“While we doubt that this resolution will result in Xi Jinping or the Los Zheng cartel losing sleep, it is crucial to shed light on the daily dangers faced by Ohioans,” said Klopfenstein. “Our aim is for Ohio to serve as a model for other states in addressing this pressing issue.”
“Unfortunately, Ohio has consistently ranked among the top 10 states for fentanyl overdose fatalities with over four thousand reported in 2020 alone—a 32% increase from 2019,” said King. “Regrettably, this number continues to rise each year with over 90 percent of illicit fentanyl originating from China.”
The proposed legislation awaits a bill number and committee assignment.
