House Finance, Health Committees Begin Budget Hearings
COLUMBUS – The Ohio House of Representatives last week began the budget process for Ohio’s operating and transportation budgets for fiscal years 2026-27. State Representative Jean Schmidt (R-Loveland), who is a member of the House Finance Committee, is in the process of reviewing the Governor’s budget request and the various agencies’ program and funding levels.
“I am looking forward to hearing agency director testimonies about the many programs and operations that will affect Ohio and its citizens,” said Schmidt.
Additionally, Schmidt chairs the House Health Committee, which will begin hearings on the budget proposals from health-related agencies and boards.
“I am glad to be a part of a broad and robust budget process that will examine important aspects of the budget that affect the health and wellbeing of all Ohioans,” said Schmidt. “I believe the committee will have insightful questions and we look forward to hearing from agency leaders.”
