State Rep. Alicia Reece's Statement on GOP's Refusal to Include Medicaid Expansion in Budget

  COLUMBUS- State Representative Alicia Reece released the following statement after the Ohio House refused to include Medicaid expansion as part of the state’s two-year budget.  Medicaid expansion would have provided healthcare coverage to more than 275,000 Ohioans and created thousands of jobs in the healthcare field.

 “It is disheartening that this legislature did not include the expansion of Medicaid in this budget.

 “Thousands of jobs and hundreds of thousands of Ohioans, many of whom came to the Statehouse begging for the expansion, will experience the negative consequences of such shortsighted, politically motivated decision-making.

 “This legislature has once again failed the citizens of Ohio.”
